WROUGHTON ROAD MAN'S DEATH.

An inquest concerning the death of Allen Stewart, aged 62, secretary of a railway mission, 20 Wroughton-road, Battersea, was held by Mr. Oddie at Battersea Coroner's Court on Tuesday. Mr. Stewart died in the early morning of Friday.

Mrs. Ethel Maud Stewart, the widow, said that on Thursday deceased made no complaint and seemed to be in his ordinary health. He went to business and returned at 6.15 p.m. He had supper and shortly afterwards said he felt as though his stomach was a little out of order. Just before 11 o'clock he went to bed. At 12.30 he woke her and said, "I have a tightness over my chest again." On about two previous occasions he had complained of tightness. He asked for a drink and afterwards was sick. About 2 o'clock he became unconscious. She sent for a doctor, who said he was dead.

Dr. H.B. Weir, pathologist, said deceased was a stout man. He had a good deal more fat than usual especially round the heart, which was diseased. Otherwise he was healthy. Death was due to heart disease.

The coroner recorded "Natural Death."
