The visit of the chief magistrate (Mr. Percy Binns, K.C.) to the Southern Plantations yesterday has had a tranquillising effect. On leaving Mr. Binns was cheered by the strikers, and they promised to take his advice and resume work on Monday. Most of the Indians in Durban are again at work. |
