WOOLWICH. (Before Mr. MARSHAM. ALLEGED SHOP-LIFTING.—Louisa Ditton, 74, of 79, High-street, Woolwich, was charged with stealing a pair of boots, value 2s., from the shop of Joseph Henry Harding, 62, Powis-street, Woolwich.—Mrs. Harding said the prisoner entered the shop with a box of matches as an excuse, and whilst her back was turned, she decamped with the boots, which she gave up when pursued. They lost three pairs of boots under similar circumstances last week.—Remanded. |
