LOWESTOFT WEDDING MR. GERALD F. WATSON AND MISS ETHEL DUTTON The wedding took place at St. Margaret's Church, Lowestoft on Saturday of Mr. Gerald Featherstone Watson, second son of Mr. Myles F. Watson and the late Mrs. Watson of Newcastle, and Miss Ethel (Pat) Dutton, youngest daughter of Mrs. W. Dutton of Great Yarmouth. The bridegroom who is connected with the Lowestoft fishing industry, is a lieutenant in the R.N.V.R., and is a well-known Lowestoft sportsman, being a member of both the Lowestoft and Yarmouth Rugby Club, and the Lowestoft Golf Club. Before coming south he was a member of the Northern Rugby Union F.C. at Newcastle. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. W.J. Dutton wore a full-length satin gown with medici collar, and a small train with head dress of orange blossom and shoulder length veil. She carried a double sheaf of lilies. Her attendant was Mrs. V.A. Curran (sister) whose gown was of sea green lace, and who carried a double spray of carnations which toned with her head dress. Mr. Richard Rogers was best man. The Rector (Canon H.J. Enraght) officiated and Mr. W.T. Owers of St. George's, Woodford (cousin of the bride) was at the organ. Afterwards a large number of guests attended the reception at Sunnydene, North Parade, Lowestoft, the residence of Mrs. Curran, and later in the day Mr. and Mrs. Watson left for a tour in the North. The bride's going away suit was of nigger brown cloque taffeta with hat to match and she also wore a fur, the gift of the bridegroom. |
