H13. ANN BULLER born SPRAKE

Ann Sprake was baptised at Hawkchurch, Dorset, on the 20th August 1756.1

Of Hawkchurch, she married [H8] Thomas Buller there on the 21st May 1784. Their children were: Sarah (1785–1856) and [H7] Mary.1

Her death was registered in Axminster RD in the second quarter of 1840.3

Ann Sprake was the eldest known child of [H14] Robert and [H19] Sarah Sprake.4

H14. ROBERT SPRAKE

Robert Sprake was baptised on the 29th June 1726, at Hawkchurch, Dorset.1

Of Hawkchurch, Dorset, Robert Sprake married [H19] Sarah Frome at Stoke Abbott, Dorset, by banns, on the 19th September 1754; he signed his name. Their children were [H13] Ann, Mary (1759 – ?), Margaret (1761–1799), Susanna (1764 – ?), all baptised at Hawkchurch; John (1767–1772), Sarah (1769–1772), both bapt. Allington, Dorset; John (1773–1837), bapt. Bridport; and Sarah (1775–1809), bapt. Allington.2

A pauper, he was buried at Hawkchurch on the 4th July 1802, three days after his wife.3

Robert Sprake was the only known child of Richard and Anne Sprake.4

H15. RICHARD SPRAKE

Richard Sprake was baptised at Hawkchurch, Dorset, on the 7th January 1688.1

He married [H18] Anne ____. Their only known child was [H14] Robert (1726–1802).2

He was buried at Hawkchurch on the 20th March 1738/9.3

Richard Sprake was the son of Richard and Susanna Sprake.4

H16. RICHARD SPRAKE

Richard Sprake married [H17] Susanna Kerby on the 13th January 1682/3, at Hawkchurch, Dorset. Their only known child was [H15] Richard (1688–1738/9).1

Richard Sprake was buried at Hawkchurch on the 5th February 1715/16.2

H17. SUSANNA SPRAKE born KERBY

Susanna Kerby married [H16] Richard Sprake on the 13th January 1682/3, at Hawkchurch, Dorset. Their only known child was [H15] Richard (1688–1738/9).1

H18. ANNE SPRAKE born ____

Anne ____ married [H15] Richard Sprake. Their only known child was [H14] Robert (1726–1802).1

H19. SARAH SPRAKE born FROME

Of Stoke Abbott, Sarah Frome married [H14] Robert Sprake there, by banns, on the 19th September 1754; she marked her name. Their children were [H13] Ann, Mary (1759 – ?), Margaret (1761–1799), Susanna (1764 – ?), all baptised at Hawkchurch; John (1767–1772), Sarah (1769–1772), both bapt. Allington, Dorset; John (1773–1837), bapt. Bridport; and Sarah (1775–1809), bapt. Allington.1

A pauper, she was buried at Hawkchurch, Dorset, on the 1st July 1802.2

Suggestions for further research

The marriage of [H15] Richard Sprake needs to be tracked down. And to take the Sprake line further back it is essential to locate the birth/baptism/parentage of [H16] Richard Sprake.

Finding the birth/baptism/parentage of [H19] Sarah Frome would open up this new line.
