F3. JANE ROLF(E)/ROFF born THOMAS

Jane Thomas was born about 1783 and christened on the 28th September that year at St John the Baptist's church, Hannington (as Jenny).1

She married [F2] William Roff on the 30th June 1806, in Dummer.2

Their children were: Julia (c. 1808 – 1870, b. Newton, Hampshire), [F1] Elizabeth (1813–1885), Rachel (1817–1896), John (1820–1821), and Robert (1822–1892), all apart from Julia born in Baughurst.3

Described as a poor person, Jane Rolfe died of liver complaint / a diseased liver at about 11:30am on the 10th September 1837, in St Mary Bourne. She was buried in Dummer on the 15th of that month.4

Jenny Thomas was the third child and second daughter of [F4] William and [F5] Jane Thomas.5

F4. WILLIAM THOMAS

William Thomas was born around 1758. A farmer, he married [F5] Jane Traish at Whitchurch, Hampshire, on the 21st October 1779, by licence.1

Their children were: Fanny (1780 – after 1809), William (1781 – ?), [F3] Jane (1783–1837), Elizabeth (1786–1819), Thomas (1788–1848), Daniel (1791–1842), and Robert (1794 – ?); Elizabeth and Thomas were born at Ecchinswell, all others at Hannington.2

His body was buried at Whitchurch on the 14th March 1803.3

Suggestions for further research

All source references to the now defunct Kingsclere Families website need to be checked. My recollection says they're reliable, but really they all need confirmation in primary sources.

Beyond that, no progress can be made without first locating birth/baptism and parentage for [F4] William Thomas.
