| 1651-05-27 | made his will: My messuage and tenement in Fee simple situate at Hudshouse to be sold by my Supervisiors whom I nominate as William Thistlethwaite and James Burton, my brothers; and Richard leake and Richard Wallker, my nephews. They are also to sell my personal estate and pay thereout the following legacies. To my eldest daughter Margaret £17 and another £ in consideration of some goods I had which were hers. To my second daughter Mary £17 and £5 as before for Margaret. To my youngest daugter Rebecca £17 and £ more, which is in the hands of Thomas Middleton, which is to be payd to the said Rebecca after the decease of Hannah my now wife. To my son Richard Thistlethwaite if he shall quietly and peacablie answer this my will and rest satisfied whith what I shall give him doing and causing to be done whatsoever by my Supervisors of him shall be lawfully required and willinge consenting hereunto the remainder of all the money my wife her widowhood my debts legacies funeral expenses first deducted out which my lands and goods shall be sold for But if he deine to do what my Supervisors shall lawfully require him for the accomplishment of this my will and performing of there Trust it is my will that my Supervisors shall hold in there own power the remainder of the money before me bequeathed to him till such time as he shall answer what they require of him. Executors are the four supervisiors named above; they are to receive 5 shillings apiece. Witness: Joseph Farrer. CODICIL undated: Item it is my will and mind that if any of my children to whom I have given legacies as in my Will is specified shall dye before they accomplish the full age of one and twentye years or before they marrye It is my mind that the survivors of the said childe soe dyinge shall have the beneffitt of the said Legacie equallie amongst them I give unto my wife and fower children each one of them a silver spoon provided that the childrens Fower shal be in my wifes safe custodie dureinge her Life Item it is my mind that this schedul be anexed to my Will as parte thereof.
