TUESDAY.—(Before the Mayor and Dr. Powis.)—Thomas Collins was charged with having, on Monday, unlawfully and indecently assaulted a little girl named Rosa Bell. The case was proved. Defendant said he was drunk and knew nothing about it. Committed for trial.

Mr. Greene was counsel for the prosecution, and Mr. Baker Smith defended the prisoner.

The charge was fully proved.

The defence was that the prisoner was drunk.

Sentenced to two calendar months' hard labour.

Thomas Collins was summoned by the Inland Revenue Officers for having, on the 17th January, used a gun in Bray Parish without having a license. The defendant declared that he had no gun and never had one, but the Bench considered the case proved, and he was fined 50s., one-fourth of the penalty, with a recommendation that it should be further reduced one-half.

John Collins and Thomas Collins, of Boyn Hill, were charged with trespassing on the Thicket on the 16th Dec. in search of conies. John Collins was fined 20s. and 8s. 6d. costs, and Thomas Collins 10s. and 8s. 6d. costs, the former having been convicted several times and the latter once previously.
